A horde of Grunts attacking Karl

Zombies are the most common enemy in Zombie Army Trilogy and in Zombie Army 4: Dead War. They are relatively slow and easy to kill in small groups. However, their strength comes when they attack in hordes. This article does not cover any special zombies or the Elite zombies.

They were originally created from the dead bodies of German soldiers when Hitler activated the Sagarmatha Relic.

Variations[]

Sometimes, the Common Grunts can wield weaponry, ranging from metal pipes to functioning firearms such as a Luger pistol and an MP40. When a Common Grunt is wielding a gun, they have terrible aim and usually just wave their gun in their hands aimlessly. They can still manage to hit the player though.

In Sniper Elite: Nazi zombie Army 1 and 2, Zombies can be seen wearing a darker version of the Heer Private uniform, though its same uniform, it has grey and green Erbsenmuster camouflage. in Sniper Elite: Nazi zombie army 2, a new version called the "Rotten Zombie" appears, in which they appear decomposed with an exposed chest showing their ribcage. They made their debut in "Crucible of Evil" in which they walked out of the water. In addition to the Rotten Zombie, a variant called the "Burnt Zombie" appears, in which they have charred and burned skin and they appear much thinner. They also emit smoke while they walk. These zombies commonly spawn by walking through fire.

All Zombie variants have the same headgear including Field caps, Gas masks, Helmets, Helmets with Swastikas and even knives stuck in their heads.

Ignited Zombie[]

Ignited Zombies are regular zombies that have been set on fire by a Fire Demon. In Sniper Elite: Nazi zombie Army 2 they run in the same way and have the same speed as a Suicide Grunt and they take a few hits to kill. In Zombie Army Trilogy, they were heavily changed; firstly when transformed their running became slower and they would scream loudly. If no zombies are around, then the Fire Demon will spawn Ignited zombies instead of creating them from normal zombies. They also now appear from behind fiery entrances. When damaging the player or getting shot, they instantly evaporate leaving no loot behind, While kicking them is a harmless way to kill them individually, a machine gun is quite effective for hordes of them since they die from a single shot. This variant is unable to wield any weaponry.

Armored Zombie[]

Armored Zombies are covered in heavy metal armor, which are metal plates cobbled together, making them very durable to gunshots. However, their armor can be forecully removed using explosives. The player can also shoot through the eye hole of their helmets to land a headshot. They are not to be confused with the Heavy Armor Zombies.

Zombie Army 4: Dead War[]

At first in the mission Dead Ahead they appear as husks, which are leftover zombies from when Hitler was defeated in the previous game, however later in the level, more zombies show up which were created recently. They first attack by crashing a train into the Resistance base at the train station and then causing havoc. Zombies Grunts include Engineers ,Turret Zombies, Medics and Ammo Carriers. In the DLC missions, it now includes scientists, miners, etc.

Grunt[]

The most common zombies in the game, Grunts use melee weapons and slowly move forward. They always appear in large groups which can surround the player, and they are often dropped of by Zombie Halftracks.

Many regular grunts are former Wehrmacht or SS soldiers and wear stahlhelms which can protect them, while others also wear gas masks. In the DLCs, they can take on different appearances such as Scientists in Terror Lab, in which they sometimes carry beakers of chemicals, or Miners in Deeper Than Hell where they also sometimes carry Dynamite sticks which explode when they are killed, much like the Suiciders.

There is a sub variant called the water grunt. These are zombies who have been submerged in water and appear heavily decomposed, they appear by coming out of bodies of water. they are also immune to fire damage and weak to electricity.

Grunts can also go into a frenzy when Commanders enrage them, which will make them run faster. They can be reverted to normal with Divine grenades, however, normal Zombies can sometimes spawn while enraged.

Crate Zombies[]

Normal zombies that burst out of crates when opened. These zombies are usually really rare.

Turret Zombies[]

Turrets Zombies use heavy MGs to shoot the player, if the player gets out of their range they will stop using their mounted machine gun and begin behaving like a regular zombie.

Engineer[]

Zombie engineers wear the uniforms of German Engineers (From SE4) with welding masks that can protect them more than helmets. They are sometimes seen wielding blowtorches which can explode if it makes contact with a gun shot.

Ammo Carrier[]

They are Former Fallschirmjägers who use firearms such as the MP44 M30 and C96. However all their skills on the firing range died with them and they are barely able to land a hit on the player. Ammo Carriers as their name implies, carry ammunition for the players. In order to collect them, they must stomp on the Ammo Carriers' corpses until nothing is left of them.

Medic[]

Also Former Fallschirmjägers, who are no longer concerned with saving lives, Medics are armed with bone saws and will attempt to amputate the player when close. Medics carry Medkits and just like the Ammo Carrier the player must stomp on their corpses until nothing is left in order to collect it. They are easy to identify with their bright white helmets and white armbands.

Hitler Zombies[]

Normal zombies but summoned by Hitler. Their faces have been replaced with Hitler's own but keep their Wehrmacht uniform.
